Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC)
PVC is
polyvinylchloride and comes in many different forms. These different
forms modify the
properties to suit particular applications. Plasticisers, stabilisers
and impact modifiers can be added to produce these modifications.
In
general, PVC is light, water resistant, offers a long life cycle and
does not require much maintenance. These excellent qualities makes PVC
one of the most commonly used plastics today.
PVC is
especially suitable for the construction industry in the form of PVC
pipes, cables, window frames and floors. Offering maintenance free and
long lasting properties.
PVC can
be found in the manufacturing of gloves, tubes and blood bags in the
medical sector. This material is the only specified material for many of
these life saving products.
